n: The angle between the tangent of borehole axis and vertical line, measured by inclinometer.

n: the angle in degrees that a floating vessel inclines to one side or the other.

the deviation angle (from vertical) at which a solid material will no longer fall down the pipe, but will begin to accumulate on the pipe wall. The angle of repose for dry, round sand is about 62o and for wet sand about 50o to 60o depending on size, shape

n: a glass-stem thermometer in which the tail is bent at an angle to the stem so that the tail can be mounted in a horizontally disposed thermowell, leaving the scale vertical for greater ease of reading.

n: one type of misalignment in a chain-and-sprocket drive. The shafts are not parallel to each other (they form an angle) in either the horizontal or the vertical plane. This pulls the link plates on one side tighter than those on the other side;thus, one side of the chain and sprockets wears faster than the other. Link plates on only one side of the chain break because of fatigue.

n: The main component is calcium sulphate which has no crystal water. The formation which contains this gypse is very usual in drilling and it can contaminate the fresh water drilling fluid. This formation swells when the drilling fluid go through it and som

CaSO4 formation. Usually formed as an evaporite from a drying lake of trapped sea water.

n: the lowest temperature at which the chemical aniline and a solvent (such as the oil in oil-base muds) will mix completely. In general, the oil of oil-base muds should have an aniline point of at least 150F (66"C) to obtain maximum service life from the rubber components in the mud system.

n: The lowest temperature in which the same volume of oil and aniline dissolve in each other.

n: a gas measurement device that consists of a mutiple-ported Pitot tube installed inside a pipe through which gas is flowing;it is installed perpendicular to the flow of gas. The length of the annubar is equal to the diameter of the pipe in which it is installed. An annubar senses the difference between total flowing pressure and static pressure;gas volume is calculated from this difference. See Pitot tube.
